To Restore. To Elevate. To Retain.
To Lift the Legacy of Black Educators in Public Education.
On any given day in an urban school district, a Black educator carries more than instruction. They navigate racialized expectations, disproportionate discipline responsibilities, emotional labor, and isolation - often without culturally affirming support. Within five years, many leave the profession - not because they lack skill, but because the system lacks sustainability.
The Lifted Legacy Foundation exists to interrupt that pattern.
We partner with schools and districts to build sustainable systems of retention for Black educators. Together, we strengthen the conditions that make sure educators, and student outcomes alike, thrive.
